A man is not the source of my problems nor my solution (as far as I know. Truth be told, I have endured far more bullshit from the females in my life then the males. And it hurts worse.

And as much as I appreciate the good Mr. Perry does in the hood....I must co-sign with "ThaL"..that movie was boo boo. Rudy was a better actress when she was younger.

I can slam on Tyler Perry all day long but that's been done. It's become like a piece of burnt toast. We've scape off the burnt surface and eat the rest. But it's a damn shame the highest paid female is actually a swinging D**k.

To be fair, I have to look at the issue of the black males role in the plight of the black woman with a discerning eye. This is a mans world and we are failing to take the lead. The numbers of black men that leave the family unit dwarfs that of women. Right there we have a major problem. Sure, it takes two to tango but again, that does not void the fact that men leave more often than men.

On another note, men cry just as much as women but they cry in the dark or undercover. Listen to the lyrics of many rap songs. Black men cry dry tears.

We may not be the root of all their problems but odds are we are somewhere in the mix.

OK, first of all Folk, I have to say that this was THE ABSOLUTE WORST MOVIE I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY ENTIRE BLACK WOMAN LIFE. EVER. ABSOLUTELY. THE. WORST.

Now that I got that out, I think it's bullsh!t that this is how black men & women are portrayed. But unfortunately, it's not just the fictional portrayal, it's the very real way that many black women (I can't speak for the men) are brought up learning about black relationships. You characterized it to well: black men are viewed as the problem and half the solution. And that's bullsh!t. Sh!t talk 'em one minute, then holler about how the good lawd's gon' bring you a husband the next. Ugh.

I'm with you on this one. I think men, ALL men, have this bad rap in most any movie. It doesn't matter what's going on with a woman, the problem stemmed from a man. Even if she broke her heel on something, they'll make that "I bet a man made this shoe" comment and her two girlfriends will laugh in sympatico with her.

What if we as men, ALL men, did that? What if we blamed women in general when OUR underwear were scratchy or OUR shoes didn't fit right but for some reason we wore both to impress women anyways. What if we blamed women in general for the car we drive not having a fixture on the steering wheel to do OUR nails on while driving at 75 MPH and talk on the phone while putting on make-up. Huh? What then?

I'm sorry. I lost the point. What was it again? Oh yeah..... what if the tables were turned? All of the sudden unfair, right?
